Made appear­ances as child prodigy with Herbert, Sousa and others. Early 'teens, toured Europe and U.S. Became di­rector of orchestra Los Angeles theater; musical conductor Broadway musical shows for several years. Re­turned to Los Angeles theater as con­ductor; wrote musical score for pic­ture, Civilization, one of first full length pictures to be presented with musical accompaniment. Gave up musical activities for motion picture direction.
